The Golden Rule: Sun & Light
Succulents love light and need about six hours of sun per day, depending on the type. Newly planted succulents can scorch in direct sunlight, so you may need to gradually introduce them to full sun exposure. For indoor plants, a south-facing window is usually the best spot to ensure they don't stretch toward the light. And there is always the use of grow lights.
The Art of Hydration
Overwatering is the fastest way to kill a succulent. Use the 'soak and dry' method: water the soil directly until it's soaked, then wait until the soil is completely bone-dry before watering again. During their dormant winter months, succulents need even less water as their growth slows down significantly. When in doubt let it dry out!.
Foundation for Growth
Succulents need soil that drains quickly. Standard potting soil is too heavy and retains too much moisture. Opt for a cactus and succulent mix or amend regular soil with perlite or pumice. Ensuring your pots have drainage holes is critical to prevent root rot and maintain a healthy aerated root system or LECA balls to absorb excess moisture
